The Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain, www.dswa.org.uk/,  aims to promote the highest standards of professional practice, responsibility and ethics within the craft of dry stone walling and to support excellence in all aspects of the discipline.

Four Levels of craftsman test schemes; intital, intermediate, advanced, & master, are judged by master craftsman.  This ensures a high quality standard for those practicing the craft within the organization. 

I hold an intermediate certificate.  It took two tests to succeed.  The cheek end in my first test was out of plumb, causing me to fail by one point.  The test consists of stripping out a freestanding wall of 2 sq. meters of material and reconstructing it within a seven hour time slot.
