Art Hop 2008 - Outdoor Fireplace

The outdoor rumford (www.rumford.com/ ) fireplace, SUNDOWN, RELAX..., featured in 2008’s South End Art Hop outside of the Great Harvest Bread Co. on Pine St. was built on a single stone slab. Rebar reinforced block, firebrick, & a Superior Clay certified Rumford Kit makes up the internal components.  The exterior masonry is a blend of New England stone. Barre Granite, Green Schist, Corinthian Granite, South Bay Quartzite, Adirondack Buff, & Glacial Rounds. The Lilac stone mantel and fireplace cap is from Pennsylvannia.  The project was built over a period of six weeks and weighs over 3 1/2 tons.
